ABOUT THE GEMS OF LITTLE INDIA TOUR
Join us on this walking tour to uncover these must-see gems of Little India:

Tekka Centre
With its shops, food stalls and wet market, Tekka Centre is a local institution and a real slice of Singapore life. Among the locals, the 'wet market' is regarded as the best place to buy fresh produce, and Tekka’s is the largest such market with an amazing variety of seafood, meats, vegetables, fruits and spices on offer.

Campbell Lane & Little India Arcade
This charming cluster of shops is where you'll find all manner of specialty products for the Indian community - garlands, bangles, bindis, sarees, oil lamps, incense, henna, snacks, sweets, handicrafts and more. Let our guide take you through some highlights and you’ll gain insights into the customs and traditions of the Indians here.

Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple
This hugely popular Hindu temple is dedicated to the Goddess Kali and has a history dating back to 1881. The entrance tower, or Gopuram, is one of Singapore’s most photographed.
Along the way, we’ll explore some of the historic streets of Little India and hear about how the Indian community was not actually supposed to settle here, under Raffles’ town plan. What made them leave their originally designated area to come to Little India? Hint: The street names in the area give us some clues. We'll also learn about the different waves of migration from India over the past 200 years and how this has shaped the community of today.
The tour is designed to end at lunch time so it’ll be perfect timing for you to enjoy the specialities of the area – our guide will provide some suggestions.
